Writing: A Necessary Part of Making Money Online
Writing is a necessary portion of making money online. It doesn’t matter if you are bum marketing, using One Week Marketing, or running PPC ads; you need to write to make money online. This is a reality that you need to face before you start any affiliate marketing campaigns and a barrier that many people have a difficult time getting past when starting. This has been my biggest problem which I finally got over just recently and I’d like to share with you what has helped me get over my writer’s block and fear.
Stop worrying about what others think of your writing
Your high school teacher is not reading your articles and grading them as they are published. Push aside any criticism that you have experienced in the past and just write something. Start with writing about a subject you are extremely knowledgeable on. Don’t say I don’t know about anything, there is some hobby that you have or had in the past which you can write about. Did you play hockey growing up? Write about your favorite hockey stick. Were you in debate? Write something about debating. What movie did you go and see on Saturday night? Write a movie review. No matter what you think, there is something we are all an expert on and that is ourselves.
Get off of the computer, especially the internet
Getting off the of the computer and writing the old fashioned way has really helped me spit out content for my articles along with clearing my mind to make my writing better. Over the past few days I have spit out almost 10 pages of written content to use in future articles. The internet is a distraction, getting off the computer and putting pen to paper will help your ideas flow much better. You will also forget about keyword optimizing, SEO, and all of that other jazz. To make this really work you need to grab your notebook and move to a different room. I prefer to go outside and get out of the house but where you go is totally up to you.
Buy your articles
Buying your content is always and option if you have some money to invest, but the reality is, most of us don’t have any extra money which is why you are affiliate marketing in the first place. You should still learn about article writing because you need to know if what you paid for is really worth your money. I recommend at least writing 5 articles on your own before doing this, just so you know what it is like.
Have a support system
A support system to get you through your writer’s block is essential. If you’re like me, you’re spouse doesn’t know what the heck you do with all of your time online and trying to explain it to them is like trying to explain how an A-Bomb works. Hopefully, they at least support your efforts and see what could become of what you are doing. You still probably want a support system of peers where you can go and ask questions and get answers quickly without the whole scientific explanation. I have found this place at Wealthy Affiliate.
I hope you have found this post helpful in pushing through your own fears of writing. If you have any tips you’d like to add, please comment below. I read about what other people are doing.

Writing content is pretty important, but there are ways to accomplish it with some help. If you’re great with programming and a terrible writer, maybe you could barter with a great copywriter out there. I also recommend having a third party check your work regardless- obvious grammar and spelling mistakes can turn customers off. Your suggestion to write what you know is great. If you can’t find help and are tackling content alone, don’t fake it. Provide insight into a topic you are familiar with- it will be easier to write and more genuine for readers.
