I have met many people online since I have started blogging and affiliate marketing over the past couple of years. Many of them have come and gone, some have gone, and others have just burst on the scene. Would I expect any of these people to invite me to their wedding or would they expect me to go to their funeral? Absolutely not, but it’s amazing how you can become to feel connected with those that you follow on Twitter or become friends with on Facebook.
One of the people I have met online over the last three years is Josh who is now the CEO at Echelon Media. When I first found him, he had just started his blog, Unconventional Marketing.
Josh is now starting an experiment and writing a book about it. His social experiment is called “Will You Be My Friend” and he is going to try to befriend as many people as he can and then cultivate those relationships into real life friendships. At the end he will try to visit the top 20-25 friends in real life and see what happens. You can read more about Josh’s experiment on his blog post, Will You Be My Friendand if this sounds like something you would be interested in you can follow Josh on Twitter at @TheRealJosh and you can become Josh’s Friend on Facebook as well.
I’d like to wish Josh well with his idea as it is really unique.
