Of course, coming up with a subject when thinking of making money is difficult, especially when you are getting started. If this sounds like you, then stop thinking about making money and go start a Squid Who lens about yourself. Don’t worry about what everyone thinks, just start writing about your life. Where did you grow up? What’s your favorite restaurant? What do you do in your free time? Once you get started writing, you will be shocked about how fast the words flow out of your fingers, through the keyboard, and onto the screen.

I have three reasons for suggesting an about me lens to start. First of all, you are writing about something you know really well, yourself. Secondly, you will be getting a feel for how setting up a basic lens works. In order to publish your lens, you will need at least 4 modules with content in them, but this really isn’t difficult. Use a Amazon module to feature your favorite books or games, add a guestbook module, a text mod or two can contain your autobiography info, and a Twitter mod can be used to let people know where to find you on Twitter. My third reason for suggesting this is you will come up with at least three more subjects that you know a lot about; write these down while you are making  your lens so you don’t forget them. These ideas are what you are going to make a lens on next.

While you are working on this, don’t worry about making it pretty, just get the lens done as a start. Once you are done, hit the publish button and you now have your first lens published. It is truly that easy.
